Traditional Acupuncture

Acupuncture originated in China and has been used for thousands of years to naturally regulate the flow of 'qi', your body's vital energy. It involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points of the body. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is currently used by more than one-fourth of the world’s population, and this ancient approach to healing combines diet, qigong, massage, acupuncture, moxibustion and herbal medicine.

Qi can become disturbed, blocked or depleted for a number of environmental and lifestyle reasons, which can later result in illness, disease or pain.

There are Acupuncture points located all over the body. Each point belongs to a system of meridians or channels that run over and around the body linking with each other and with the internal organs.
Energy flows continuously around the meridian system and with the insertion of fine needles at specific points this energy can be accessed and restored to balance.

Acupuncture harnesses and balances this energy that is often disturbed by a number of factors, internally by stress, emotions, diet and drugs and externally by trauma, the weather and seasonal changes.

When Qi is abundant and in good balance, flowing smoothly throughout the energy channels or meridians of the body, the person will be healthy.

Acupuncture points are specific sites along the meridians. Each point has a predictable effect upon the vital energy passing through it. Within Acupuncture we use an intricate system of pulse diagnosis, palpation of points and meridians, general constitution, medical history and other signs and symptoms to create a composite diagnosis. A treatment plan is then formulated to induce the body to a balanced state of health

All treatments are specifically tailored to the individual and are aimed at the root cause of the conditions as well as the symptoms. This approach helps enhance your feeling of wellbeing as well as resolving your problems.
